When Comparing Yesterday Fails

  1. Wow Courtney, you are good. I’ll never forget what you said to me when we were talking. “Embrace who you are today.” I’ve been trying to live those words and I have started to become less concerned about my (running) times. I have found myself being more happy in the fact that I actually succeeded completing the workout and less frustrated about the time it took.
God has really given you a gift with your insightfulness, thoughts and writings. I’ve shared your blog with three of my female friends. I sent, “Dear Working Mom,” to two of my friends who struggle with the balance of working and motherhood. They both loved it and one said she printed it out to be a daily reminder. I also shared, “Happy Mothers Day, to Those Nobody Calls Mom,” to a friend who lost her child a few minutes after giving birth. She has confided with me her daily anguish and yearly struggles on Mother’s Day. Your post was perfect and she thanked me for sending it to her.
This post hits home for me so I thank you for all of us who get frustrated losing the goodness of today by comparing ourselves yesterday. What a great soul you are. We are so happy to know you and your husband. See you soon I’m sure.

    1. Aww, thank you Ron! That means so much. I’m thankful for you, how your story further inspired mine, and for what community and connection means! So grateful for great people like you in our lives!!
